Hewan Alemayehu is the founder of the Society of East African Nurse Anesthesiologists in America (SEANAA), an organization dedicated to advancing mentorship, professional development, and global collaboration in nurse anesthesiology.
She is a practicing CRNA and small-business owner based in the Washington, DC, area, with extensive experience delivering anesthesia across a wide range of clinical settings, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and office-based environments. Her clinical background includes managing complex patient populations and serving as an independent anesthesia provider.
A dedicated educator, Hewan Alemayehu has trained and mentored nurse anesthesia residents and healthcare trainees from leading academic institutions. Her work emphasizes clinical excellence, skill development, and the preparation of the next generation of anesthesia providers.
She holds a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice and has completed advanced training in acute surgical pain management, as well as executive education at Harvard Business School.
